I could remember the late former principals of the institutions as great men who revealed to us the spirit of discipline and education.
Their understanding look, kind smile, special responsibility and friendly advice could never be forgotten. Under their able administration, ‘Wesley High School ‘grew from primary classes to secondary grades. The whole school Is still under a shadow of gloom. God in his great plan has called them for still higher responsibility in His Heavenly Kingdom.
Mr V Prabaharan (Principal)
Missionaries set foot on the Srilankan soil with untiring dedication and determination without minding their life to promote education in the North and East coast of Srilanka. They faced hell of hardships to achieve their vision on educational development. They selected suitable location for the schools and toiled hard to build up the schools in those areas.
It is worth mentioning that the school was named as ‘Wesly High School’ after the arrival of the founder of Methodist Mission, Rev John Wesly.
I could understand them as Christian Gentlemen of mature wisdom, and a true Srilankans, even though they gave the impression sometimes that they could not be understood except as a native Srilanka. And certainly many were the times in which they might begin sentences with You know, we Srilankans?
Yet the Great Missionaries, so loved by the Srilankans have done enough for it to engrave their names in its annals. As historians themselves, they would appreciate this and want to be ever so remembered.
